Shivaratri Greetings, Quotes, Images, animated Graphics and blessings to share with your loved ones.

Shivratri, literally meaning “the night of Lord Shiva,” is a sacred occasion in Hinduism dedicated to worshipping and venerating Lord Shiva. While many people are familiar with the grand celebration called Maha Shivratri, there is in fact a Shivratri each and every month, each carrying its own spiritual significance. As Shivaratri occurs once every lunar month on the 14th day of the dark fortnight (Krishna Paksha) of the moon cycle there are typically 12 Masik Shivratris in a year (sometimes 13 if there’s an extra month in the lunar calendar). Devotees observe fasts and perform special prayers on these special days of Baba Bholenath, seeking blessings for peace, prosperity, and spiritual growth. While all monthly Shivratris hold significance, the Maha Shivratri—also known as the “Great Night of Lord Shiva”—is by far the most prominent and widely celebrated. It typically falls in the Hindu month of Phalguna (around February/March in the Gregorian calendar).
